McDonald & Harden (M&H) partners with public sector organizations—municipalities, park systems, libraries, school districts, and community nonprofits—to identify, pursue, and secure competitive grant funding. We are expanding our network of professional freelance grant writers to support a growing client base. 

We are seeking experienced Freelance Grant Writers to collaborate with our team on a project-by-project basis. Writers will be matched with public sector clients based on subject matter expertise, and will play a key role in researching opportunities, drafting compelling proposals, and ensuring applications align with funder guidelines. 

• Research and identify grant opportunities relevant to assigned projects.
• Draft, edit, and submit grant proposals, narratives, and budgets.
• Collaborate with M&H staff and client representatives to gather project details, outcomes, and data.
• Ensure proposals are compliant with all application guidelines and deadlines.
• Track deliverables and maintain organized documentation for each project.

• Proven track record of successful grant writing (federal, state, foundation, or corporate).
• Strong research, writing, and editing skills.
• Familiarity with public sector organizations and community-based initiatives preferred.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
